27th Grand Island Ride

Memorial Day Week-End 2004

Come join the UP Distance Riders on our 27th Annual Grand Island Ride!  Travel the Bay de Noc Grand Island Trail in our beautiful Hiawatha National Forest, a trail riders paradise that stretches from Lake Michigan to Lake Superior.  The trail is used exclusively for horseback and hiking enthusiasts, and is marked and maintained by the U.S. Forest Service and adopted by the U.P. Distance Riders.  You will cross streams, ride through beautiful hardwoods and majestic pines.  Ask anyone who has ridden this trail and they will tell you it is one of the best trails in the Midwest.

Ride headquarters will be at the lower campground with plenty of parking and camping sites, plus water and latrines.  Water for filling barrels can be accessed at the U.S. Forest Service Station.  Gas, food, lodging and showers are just 1 mile away.

(Weather permitting, we will use the whole trail)
